Azah Aziz Biography: Azah Aziz was a popular Malaysian Writer, columnist, and Malay cultural figure, who was born on August 21, 1928, in Straits Settlements (now Singapore). Her full name was Sharifah Azah Syed Mohammad Alsagoff / Norazah Abdul Aziz who was also known as Mak Ungku.

She was the wife of Royal Professor Ungku Abdul Aziz Ungku Abdul Hamid and the mother of Tan Sri Dr. Zeti Akhtar Aziz, 7th Governor of the Central Bank of Malaysia. She married  Ungku Abdul Aziz bin Ungku Abdul Hamid in 1946.

Together they had a daughter, YM Tan Sri Dato' Ungku Dr.Zeti Akhtar Aziz, who was formerly the Governor of the Central Bank of Malaysia.
